The baby quilt if finished. A simple pattern that allowed for quick and easy straight line quilting. Next up... a ballet bag for Chloe.

sewing...
My sewing room is only half set up. There are still a few boxes, some unwanted furniture and only a make shift cutting table but I am back in front of my sewing machine. I have been invited to a neighborhood baby shower. The day before I received my invitation I got an email from the hostess saying that she knows I don't really know the expectant mom but that all of the ladies on the street will be there would I please come. I of course said yes which means I need to sew. I threw together I quick quilt planning my design around the ease of quilting it. I am a terrible machine quilter. I just am. In order to machine quilt ( in free motion) one must have rhythm. I have none. So if I wanted this quilt done in time for the shower I know it had to be something that would be quilted in straight lines using my walking foot. I love the design! It is so simple and I was able to cut, piece and quilt it in two days. I am going to bind it today and then I will post a photo of the finished quilt.

i'm back...
It has been a while since I have visited my own blog and even longer since I have posted. Life was a bit overwhelming for a while but I am back. A lot has happen in the four months I have been gone. Kate came and visited, so did Connie, then Kate and Matt again and the Burtons. Patrick's first National Sales Meeting is behind him and went well. Our home in Maryland finally closed in mid January and two weeks ago we closed on our new home here in Texas. There were other things, some that changed me forever. With so much going on I found it hard to write and worse I did not take pictures. Now that we are in our new home I have taken my camera out and I am beginning to explore photography again. We have fallen into a new routine over the past few months. Patrick works during the day, I keep the house, volunteer a little and in the evenings we walk. In the apartment we walked to the local Starbucks and then around the complex. Here in Bridgeland we have miles of walking trails, most along side of the many lakes. The temperature drops after dinner and a breeze blows most nights. I love our walks.
